I will say though that powdercoating can be much harder to "flatten" as opposed to regular 2-part urethane paints. The only problem I can see in your situation is sanding through the clear and into the color coat.

I powder coated mine, but I didn't go above 275F which is technically too low for the powder to "cross-link", but I read about baking aluminum parts and it causing them to age and go brittle. I have powdercoated MKI and MKII suspensions and installed urethane bushings afterwards w/o any issues whatsoever. The hardest part of the urethane install is getting the old bushing out.
